Differential Pressure Test Mechanism

Differential pressure test fixture

The purpose was to develop a test fixture to examine membrane differential pressure and produce a core design that would best minimize that differential pressure. CAD and workshop competence were utilized throughout the development of this mechanism. The end result was a core design that best satisfies the necessary criteria and will eventually be used in the final form of this developing product.

Highlights

  • Designed and 3D-printed 5+ prototype filter cores in SolidWorks to reduce differential pressure while maintaining the structural integrity of the teflon membrane under 30+ psi loads.
  • Combined CAD design with hands-on workshop fabrication to build and iterate the test fixture.
  • Delivered a core design headed for the product's final form.
